OUR STORY

EF93 was created during unprecedented times. Quarantined and having time to think about what the future will look like, we, Nefeli and Emma, realised we wanted to have a positive impact on our planet's future, and if you know us and our love for shoes and colours, what better way to do so than to create a sustainable brand.

DESIGN

DESIGN

All our sandals have been created by Greek designers based in Athens, Greece. Our collection has been inspired and named after memories each one of our team members has had on our charming Greek islands. Either reckless childhood summer nights, romantic teenage strolls or a nice getaway weekend with our grandchildren.

Our vibrant colour compositions are inspired by the importance of accepting diversity. All our pairs differ left from right as we want to remind our wearers to embrace the importance of accepting diversity and our own and each other’s differences. Everyone should feel included in our mission. After all we are all different just like our sandals.

COCONUT FIBRE

NATURAL RUBBER

Ancient Greeks and Romans used cork as floats for fishing nets, sandals, wine bottle stoppers and even personal flotation devices for fishermen. It derives from cork oak, a medium-sized, evergreen oak tree and it is native to southwest Europe and northwest Africa.

Cotton has a long history in the making of soft, comfortable clothes and textiles. Cotton is a seed-hair fiber made mostly of cellulose. Light, fluffy and naturally hypoallergenic, cotton is the undisputed king of EF93’s fabrics.

Linen has a rich history that dates back to ancient Egypt. Once a symbol of lightness and purity, it makes soft and light fabrics of exceptional strength. It is an ideal fabric that lets our bodies breathe while also keeping them cool.

The husk of the famous tropical coconut fruit is coated in strong, resilient fibers, which are then sprayed with natural rubber, shaped into layers, and used in our products. Coconut fibers are known for their durability and insulating properties.

A colloid, milky fluid, which undergoes a special process to become soft elastic foam. The name given to latex, also known as rubber, by indigenous Equator tribes was "caoutchouc", from the words "caa" (tear) and "ochu" (tree), because of the way it is collected.

MR LAZAROS LAB

MR LAZAROS LAB

Mr. Lazaros, our production leader, has been part of the shoe industry in Greece since the mid 70’s. Amongst the team members who have been with EF93 since the very beginning, we wouldn't be where we are today without his knowledge, skills, and constant sharing.

All sandals are handmade by a talented team of craftswomen and men in Athens who have been turning our ideas into a reality with a warm smile and contagious positivity.
